01 Day Cusco (3,300 m) – Wiñaywayna (2,700 m) – Machu Picchu (2,490 m)
The hike Inca Trail Short, 2 days 1 night, it first started with the pick up from hotel in Cusco to the Ollantaytambo station approximately 2 hours, where we take the train to Km 104, located at 2100.
It is a hike of 16 kilometers up to Machu Picchu, where you can bask in spectacular scenery of the high Andean and the edge of the jungle, during the trip we will visit Inca constructions such as:
Chachabamba, Choquesuysuy, Wiñaywayna, etc., as also in the course of our trek we will be able to find a great variety of flora and fauna as well as a diversity of birds.
We started the hike up-hill by an average of 4 hours until we arrive to the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna (2.650 m / 8.694 ft) whose meaning in spanish is «forever young «where we will enjoy our box lunch (lunch on the way); we will have some free time to relax and enjoy a wonderful landscape after a well-deserved rest, we continue with the walk, This hike has a duration of approximately 6 to 7 hours until we reach the Puerta del Sol known with the name of INTY PUNKU where you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Machu Picchu.
02 Day Machu Picchu – Cusco
Very early we started the day with a hearty breakfast and then enlist to visit the Citadel of Machu Picchu, we will take our bus to the ascent around 30 minutes to take us in the direction of the Citadel of Machupicchu (2.400 m.s.n.m)
Known as «The Lost City of the Incas» where we have a guided tour of approximately 2 and a half hours where we will revisit the most important places such as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows, the actual cemeteries and much more, after the guided tour you will have more free time to explore the citadel of Machupicchu and take pictures for their own account and you will also be given free time to climb up to Huaynapicchu (not included) then descend to the town of Aguas Calientes in bus and be able to enjoy a lunch with greater peace of mind and in the afternoon we will take the train to Ollantaytambo where our transfer will be waiting for us to grasp the bus from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.
