Also called «salt mines» is located to the north west of the town of Maras is constituted by approximately 3000 small wells.
During the dry season are filled every 3 days with salt water which emanates from a natural manante located at the top of the wells for that as the water evaporates, the salt contained in the fat solidify gradually, then the salt is beaten and well granulated; the salt will be then bagged and sent to the markets of the region; today this salt being iodized this reason, its consumption is not harmful.

Ubicado al occidente del Cusco a 3300 m.s.n.m. desde allí podemos ver la cordillera de Urubamba y el nevado de , La Verónica (5682 m.s.n.m) y el Chikón (5530 m.s.n.m) En la actualidad este pueblo guarda atractivos del periodo pre-hispánico, colonial y republicano.
Se halla a unos 7 Km. al suroeste de Maras, a 53 km de Cusco con altitud de 3,385 m.s.n.m es un grupo arqueológico único en su género en la región. Se trata de depresiones u hoyos naturales gigantescos que fueron utilizados por los incas quienes construyeron en sus contornos terrazas o andenes agrícolas con sus respectivos canales de irrigación, donde se obtuvieron increíbles avances en la agricultura.
Llamada también «minas de sal» Esta ubicado al noroeste del pueblo de Maras está constituidas aproximadamente por unos 3000 pozos pequeños.
Durante la época de sequía se llenan cada 3 días con agua salada que emana de un manante natural ubicado en la parte superior de los pozos para que al evaporarse el agua, la sal contenida en ésta se solidifique paulatinamente, posteriormente la sal es golpeada y así granulada; la sal será después embolsada y enviada a los mercados de la región; hoy esa sal está siendo yodada razón por la cual, su consumo no es dañino.
Finalmente estaremos retornando a la ciudad del Cusco a las 15:30 horas aproximadamente. Duración: 6- 7 horas aproximadamente.
